Why is shade important?

Shade alone can reduce overall exposure to the sun's harmful UV rays by about 75% (Parsons et al. 1998). When used in conjunction with sun-protective clothing, hats and sunscreen, shade can be the best way to achieve maximum UV radiation protection (Cancer Council Victoria).

Suncorp Shade Tents provide 100% UV protection, however indirect UV radiation can occur from scattered rays and reflect from surfaces such as water, sand and concrete, so sun protective clothing, hats and sunscreen are required in order to maximise UV protection.
