What's available?

The shade tents are available in the following sizes:
• 3m x 3m
• 6m x 3m
(Multiple shade tents may be borrowed at any one time, subject to availability).

Shade tent features include:
• durable PVC roof with a collapsible aluminium frame
• the 3m x 3m tent weighs 35kg
• the 6m x 3m weighs 63kg
• they can be erected by two people and have snap lock hinges for safety
• each shade tent is UFP ‘excellent protection' category rated
• in windy conditions, they can be secured to the ground using special
tent pegs (supplied) and/or sandbags when used on concrete or bitumen floor (empty bags supplied on request)
• the 3m x 3m shade tents collapse into a 1600mm tall x 400mm x 400mm case
• the 6m x 3m shade tents collapse into a 1600mm tall x 400mm x 700mm case
• When collapsed they are protected by a PVC zipper bag
• the shade tents are green and feature the Suncorp SunWise logo
• each shade tent comes with a cart to help move it to and from its destination.

There are only 20 shade tents available for hire each month and once the 20 shade tents have been allocated each month there are no more shade tents available for hire until the following month.

The maximum hire period is 5 days.

How much does it cost?

Subject to the conditions below, there is no charge for the hire of a SunWise shade tent.The hirer must have public liability insurance to the value of $10 million dollars and a certificate of currency must be presented upon shade tent hire.

In addition, a bond of $200 will be required, which will be refunded provided the tent is returned on time and in the same condition as it was when hired.

Who can borrow the Shade Tents?

You don't have to be a Suncorp customer to borrow a shade tent. It's all about helping Australian families and communities stay safe under the sun. Most clubs, schools, and community groups are constantly seeking new ways to minimise costs, while meeting the requirements of event organisation. SunWise Shade Tents are just one way we can make a difference.

Our shade tents can be hired by charitable and community organisations, sporting clubs, schools and other not-for-profit organisations, located within the Brisbane and Gold Coast area, for use at outdoor events.
